World of Warcraft Item Upgrades

They also provide rewards and upgrades. They can be purchased by contacting the Blacksmith.
Players can recycle any item by pressing the upgrade button on it. Every item recycled adds a level to the upgrade gauge.
Weapons
When a weapon is upgraded, it gets an initial damage bonus as well as a scaling factor which affects other stats. The weapon can also gain a variety of upgrade components that provide additional features or effects, and some have distinct cosmetic effects. These upgrades can be added to armors, weapons trinkets, gathering tools, and trinkets. Most require that the equipment is equipped with an upgrade slot and meet certain requirements. The upgrade component can be removed from a weapon, armor, or trinket, but it cannot be replaced. (Except for legendary equipment). Upgrade components can be retrieved through the Black Lion Salvage Kit, Ascended Salvage tool, or high-tier salvaging tool that is attached to an item.
In addition to the standard upgrades, a weapon can be upgraded with a Calibration Attribute that improves certain stats like Weakspot Damage or Crit Rate. This can be done through the Gear Workbench's interaction menu. This can be done four times based on the weapon's level.
Once the weapon is at max upgrade, it can be rebuilt using a variety of different upgrade types to improve specific stats or to add bonuses and effects. These upgrades can be applied at once and the effects vary depending on how rare the weapon is.
There are two Blacksmiths in the game that can perform these upgrades: Blacksmith Hewg in the Church of Elleh hub area, and Smithing Master Iji on the Road to the Manor Site of Grace. Both upgrade materials are different: Smithing Stones to modify the kind of damage weapon does and Somber Smithing Stones to alter the standard weapons.
Generally, it is recommended to upgrade weapon damage first, then armour defense, and then the other secondary stats as required by your build. In particular, it's common to see melee druids upgrading their weapon before any other gear, because it helps maximise DPS. This is especially relevant to enchantments that can be extremely efficient in increasing the damage of a weapon and other stats.
Armor
Item Upgrades allow players to enhance the base stats of specific pieces of armor trinkets, weapons, trinkets, and gathering tools. These upgrades can also have additional effects such as increased damage or cosmetic enhancements. Item upgrades can be obtained through crafting, buying from NPC vendors, or in loot drops or as rewards from quests.
The quality of armor can be upgraded by visiting the Armorer NPC, and spending the appropriate currency. In most cases the armor can be upgraded to the next tier once an upgrade is applied. This is the case for all types of armor, however certain types of armor cannot be upgraded in any way (such as the starter armor in Great Sky Island).
Most armor upgrades increase the item's defense or strength by only a tiny amount. However, certain upgrade components can give significant enhancements to defense or strength, particularly when upgrading an epic item.
In addition to increasing the defense of an item, some upgrades also give special abilities that can be activated while wearing an armor. These abilities can be helpful in combat, such as granting a buff to attack speed or blocking. Some upgrades have passive effects that can be beneficial like decreasing damage when wearing armor or increasing the chance to dodge an attack.
Depending on the type of armor, upgrading an item could require several tries. If a player wants to upgrade Steelclash armor to Dragonscale and the first attempt will result in a new Dragonscale armor with the defense base ranging from 59 to 67. The second attempt will result in an Dragonscale armor with a base defense of 67-77.
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild lets players to upgrade their armor sets up to level 4. To do this players must visit the four Great Fairy Fountains that are located in the game. Each of these locations houses the power of a fairy who can upgrade one piece of armor for the player.
Contrary to popular belief, armor in The Division 2 is not useful. Some armors offer a significant boost in the reduction of the damage caused by poison, curse, magic, or fire. This makes them beneficial for certain types of builds. There are also ways to boost armor stats beyond the use of upgradeable armor such as the engineer trait to boost armor penetration, or the challenger trait to reduce the weight of the entire armor.
